Measurement-based care – research that moves care forward

Guided by evidence, adjusted in real time

At Homewood Ravensview, we use measurement-based care (MBC) to guide treatment with evidence, not guesswork. Progress is tracked regularly, shared openly, and used to adjust care in real time – so treatment stays focused on what’s actually helping.

What is measurement-based care?

How it works at Homewood Ravensview:

  • Clients complete brief measures at intake and throughout treatment
  • Clients and clinicians see up-to-date results right away
  • Care plans are adjusted based on progress, not assumptions

This approach builds on Homewood’s user-friendly electronic platform, Touchpoint, designed and developed in collaboration with the Homewood Research Institute, Homewood expert clinicians and those with lived experience.

Why MBC makes a difference

MBC turns mental health care into a shared, transparent process — for clients and clinicians.

Measurement-based care: A case study

Homewood Ravensview is committed to advancing evidence-based approaches that improve outcomes for those we serve. Our recent peer-reviewed article, “Measurement-based care in a Canadian treatment program for first responders, military personnel, and Veterans: A case study,” published in the Journal of Military, Veteran and Family Health, examines how measurement-based care (MBC) was successfully implemented within a specialized Canadian mental health and addictions program.

Drawing on data from a digital MBC platform, the study found patient engagement and clinical outcomes exceeding national benchmarks, while also highlighting the practical challenges of implementation and the importance of training and clinical leadership. Together, these insights demonstrate how structured, measurement-driven care can strengthen treatment and improve outcomes for individuals with complex mental health needs.

Why it matters — especially in a landscape

where many providers don’t use MBC

By offering MBC as standard, Ravensview stands out among other providers- clients and families can choose with confidence,
knowing their care is backed by science, measurement, and a commitment to ongoing improvement.

Recognized for excellence in measurement-based care

Homewood Health received the 2025 MBC Impact Award from Greenspace Health – recognizing real-world success in improving outcomes through measurement-based care.

This recognition reflects our commitment to rigorous, measurable, client-centered treatment.
