Chronic pain treatment options
Chronic pain and mental health
Nearly 8 million Canadians live with chronic pain, and it can trigger a devastating range of physical, emotional, and social issues for those who suffer with it. Ravensview’s Integrated Chronic Pain Service offers a beacon of hope for individuals experiencing chronic pain alongside anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, or co-occurring mental health disorders.
Our approach
Chronic pain may be felt in the body, but it affects, and is affected by, the mind as well. When treatment fails to account for both factors, it often leads to temporary relief that doesn’t address the underlying causes.
The Ravensview Integrated Chronic Pain Service is designed to treat not only chronic pain but also the complex interplay of mental health conditions that often accompany it. This physician-led, comprehensive program integrates medical, psychological, and physical therapies to provide clients with holistic care that addresses both the physical symptoms and psychological impacts of chronic pain.

What is chronic pain?
Chronic pain is pain that persists for longer than three months, often despite treatment. It may have a known cause, but it can also occur without a known cause or after an injury has healed or a condition has been treated. It can vary in intensity and can be continuous or intermittent. Chronic pain can lead to a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and stress, as it may impact one’s lifestyle and ability to work and engage in social relationships.
