Anxiety disorders
Anxiety is a natural stress response that typically involves worry, fear or nervousness. A reasonable amount of anxiety can be helpful in certain situations, as it can provide additional motivation in cases such as preparing for a test or job interview. However, anxiety can be considered a disorder when it becomes severe, persistent and interferes with daily life. Some examples of anxiety disorders that benefit from treatment are Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia.
Our approach
The program for anxiety treatment draws on a range of evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioural therapies, expressive therapies, and mindfulness practices. Treatment helps clients understand how to make informed decisions, overcome negative thinking, improve problem solving, build coping skills, and return to daily life.

Anxiety treatment for adults
For adults experiencing an anxiety disorder, Ravensview offers Cornerstone, a nine-week inpatient program during which clients receive a structured program that includes a one-on-one assessment with a psychiatrist, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational and expressive therapies such as art, music and horticultural therapy.
Anxiety treatment for young adults
Many young adults experience anxiety as they navigate the early stages of life and look ahead to the future. The nine-week inpatient My Path Program for young adults targets and resolves anxiety with help from an interdisciplinary team that can include a psychologist, psychiatrist, 24-hour nursing staff and a variety of other helping professionals.
